Event Extras:

UPDATE: All Manuscript Critiques, Roundtables, and Portfolio Reviews have SOLD OUT. Registration for the presentations is still available!

After you register for the presentations, you may choose to add on only one of the following: manuscript critique, portfolio review, or a first look roundtable. There are only a limited number of these available and may sell out, so register early!

Manuscript Critiques:
Choose which agent you would like a manuscript from. You can choose a “written only” critique or “critique with meeting”.

Written-Only –  the agent will provide written feedback about your manuscript. We will email your feedback shortly after Agents Day.

Critique With Meeting – On Agents Day, you will have a scheduled one-on-one, 15 minute Zoom meeting with your critique agent to hear their feedback, ask questions, and discuss your project.

Manuscripts for critique will be due by January 18th. View the manuscript critique details and submission guidelines here.

Portfolio Reviews:
On Agents Day, you will have a scheduled one-on-one, 15 minute Zoom meeting with our illustration agent to give you feedback on your portfolio or dummy. Portfolios or dummy will be due by March 3rd. View the portfolio submission guidelines here.

First Look Roundtables:
A group of 5-6 attendees will meet with the agent they registered with. Each attendee will have 9-12 minutes to read aloud the first page of a novel or 300 words of a picture book manuscript or give the pitch for their work. Then, the agent will provide feedback. It’s a good learning opportunity to hear an industry professional’s opinion about your work and the work of your peers! More information on roundtables here.

Panel on Great Pitches:
The first 20 people to register will have the chance to have their pitch critiqued during our “Panel on Great Pitches”! A link to submit will be sent separately to those people only. We will compile all the pitches into one document, removing each submitter’s name. The agents will choose which ones to talk about during this panel – either because they stand out or because they could use a little improvement. If an agent likes your pitch, we will let you know so you can submit a personalized query to them! More information on pitches here!
